IOCGCu-Au

Type
IOCG (Cu-Au) in a shear zone

Neoarchean IOCG deposit of the Carajás Province (see also the Carajás entry); main mineralization around 2.55 Ga within Fe-K then chlorite alteration halos. Schists, amphibolites and granitoids along the Cinzento Shear Zone; copper-gold dated at 2503 ± 51 Ma, coeval with granites and pegmatites (2557 ± 26 Ma) around which tourmaline is abundant; older mineralization without tourmaline (2718 ± 56 Ma). Melo et al. (2021): tourmaline from +5.1 to +6.4 ‰, magmatic fluid signature.
