IsoFind - Roadmap
Roadmap

IsoFind is built
with you

This roadmap is indicative and evolving. The major milestones are set; the details are continuously refined based on community feedback and needs emerging from real-world use.

Last updated: July 2026

Is a feature missing from your workflow? Every request is read and reviewed. The most relevant ones are added to the roadmap. Contact us or submit your idea on the forum (coming soon).

The free foundation

Two distinct kinds of free, with no time limit: the Essential edition, and the Research mode of the generalist software.

  • IsoFind Essential, free forever: geochemical spreadsheet wired to the database, full sample management
  • Standards and reference materials: GeoReM-compatible CRM library, automatic standardisation of batches
  • Maps and visualisations: bi-isotopic and ternary diagrams, publication-ready figures
  • Reading, writing and signing of ISOF files
  • Built-in isotope tools: m/z lookup, molecule parser, Python console, plugin system
  • Research mode of the generalist: CSIA tracing of PFAS and pesticides, 3D visualisation of those plumes, basic PDF reports
  • Local SQLite database, large-scale archiving, guided import with error detection
  • Windows today, Linux version planned

Since spring 2026

IsoFind, generalist edition

The complete software for engineering consultancies, laboratories and forensic expertise.

€3,500excl. VAT per year

  • Nexus engine: visual modelling of isotope transformations, Rayleigh fractionations, box models, equilibrium and kinetic
  • Quick Match Pro: six analysis modes, from origin search to process identification
  • Predictive 3D simulation: geochemical prior coupled with an ONNX model, cutting plane, time slider
  • FAIH reports sealed with SHA-256, timestamped and exportable audit trail
  • Encryption and access control: user roles, sessions, multi-user, air-gap compatible
  • Local REST API (FastAPI and Swagger) for automation and Python integration
  • Geochemical machine learning: assisted interpretation, every suggestion carrying its own justification
Available

Since spring 2026

The open ecosystem

What guarantees that your data and your methods stay yours, with or without IsoFind.

  • ISOF format v1.3 under the MIT licence, public specification, verifiable without the software
  • isof package on PyPI, Python and Rust implementations
  • R console: a complete R environment embedded through WebR, running locally. Free plugin
  • PHREEQC console: the USGS reference code compiled to WebAssembly, thermodynamic databases included. Free plugin
  • Extension marketplace: archives signed with ECDSA P-256, verified on installation, with no third-party server
  • Community database: isotope data, reference materials and analytical methods, signed and then reviewed by moderation

Since June 2026

IsoSupply, the first vertical

The compliance and supply chain edition, for procurement and quality teams.

€2,900excl. VAT per year

  • Reconstruction of the original signature across industrial transformations, from ore to finished product
  • Compliance-oriented Quick Match: origin search, traceability, multi-source unmixing, counterfeit detection
  • Reference deposit database to check every batch against a documented reference set
  • Auditable reports aligned with the CRMA, the Battery Regulation and OECD due diligence
  • Offline and sovereign: no supplier data leaves your infrastructure

Summer 2026

IsoStrata
and the 3D engine overhaul

The subsurface and water edition, carried by a faster and more realistic geochemical simulation.

€2,900excl. VAT per year

  • IsoStrata: environmental hydrogeology, mineral exploration, national geological surveys
  • 2D flow solver coupling the unsaturated and saturated zones, head field, piezometric contours and Darcy vectors
  • Borehole management: editable interval table, lithologies, reading profiles with depth
  • 3D simulation engine overhaul: vectorisation of the ADE solver, an order of magnitude faster, fine-grained lithological heterogeneity
  • Multilayer aquifers: richer boundary conditions, more accurate Darcy derivation
  • Nexus and simulation coupling: precomputed pH x Eh lookup table for inline geochemical processes
  • Multi-scenario comparison: confront several parameter sets within a single report

Two more verticals

The same foundation, two trades with very different demands. Prices exclude VAT, per user, per year.

  • Shared foundation: geochemical engine, ISOF signature, audit trail and machine learning inherited from the generalist edition
  • Targeted vertical modules: each edition ships only what its sector needs, with no irrelevant features
  • IsoDef under restricted distribution: supplied after customer verification, reserved for organisations based in the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and the United States

Mid-term vision

Winter 2026 / 2027

Advanced analysis
and enriched reporting

Scaling up interpretation tools and results communication.

  • New learning models, more powerful, trained on expanded geochemical corpora
  • Nexus improvements: new process blocks, better uncertainty handling
  • Propagated uncertainty calculation: every result accompanied by its confidence intervals
  • Enriched reports: advanced layout, embedded charts, configurable sections
  • Automatic outlier detection with suggested handling

Collaboration
and real-time monitoring

Opening IsoFind to the outside: sharing, reproducibility, and the edition dedicated to continuous monitoring.

  • Reproducible project export: raw data, parameters, results and software version in a single shareable package
  • Lightweight sharing portal: a read-only interface to share results without granting software access
  • EarthChem and Pangaea compatibility: direct import from the major open geochemical databases
  • Secure multi-site synchronisation: encrypted sharing between several local databases within one organisation
  • IsoStream: edition dedicated to real-time monitoring, alerts on isotope drift, continuous sensor integration (€5,900 excl. VAT/yr)
Long-term vision

2028 and beyond

Connectivity
with instruments

The most ambitious step: removing the last friction between instrument and analysis.

  • Instrument connectors: native import from the output formats of common instruments (Thermo, Agilent, Nu Instruments) without going through CSV
  • Open public API allowing the scientific community to build their own tools on top of IsoFind
  • LIMS integrations: connection with the most widely used laboratory management systems
