- Type
- Iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) with nickel and cobalt
Carajás Mineral Province, Itacaiúnas Shear Belt, southern segment, near Canaã dos Carajás; same family as Sossego. Hosted by subvolcanic and volcanic rhyodacites (about 2.75 Ga) and gabbros. Early sodic alteration, then calcic-iron (actinolite-magnetite) and potassic (biotite) alteration; chalcopyrite-pyrrhotite-pyrite-cobaltpentlandite breccias. Magmatic fluid (water δ18O +9.5 to +5.2 ‰ between 500 and 400 °C); calcite fluids near 400 °C: δ13C -2.8 to -1.5 ‰. Indicative coordinates.
