IOCGCu-Au

Type
Iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG)

Regional WNW-ESE shear zone at the contact between metavolcano-sedimentary units of the Itacaiúnas Supergroup (about 2.76 Ga) and tonalitic to trondhjemitic gneisses and migmatites of the Xingu Complex (about 2.8 Ga); 245 Mt at 1.1 % Cu and 0.28 g/t Au. Two groups of ore bodies separated by a fault with large vertical offset: Pista-Sequeirinho-Baiano (regional sodic alteration, sodic-calcic actinolite alteration with magnetite-apatite bodies, then mineralisation with epidote, chlorite, allanite, calcite and quartz) and Sossego-Curral (weak albite, potassic biotite-K-feldspar alteration grading to chlorite, chalcopyrite breccias, late hydrolytic sericite-hematite alteration). Isotopic temperatures from 550 ± 25 °C (actinolite-magnetite) to 190 ± 25 °C; fluid δ18O from +8.7 to -4.2 ‰: hot 18O-rich fluids, then influx of 18O-depleted, probably meteoric fluids during mineralisation according to the authors; chalcopyrite δ34S of +2.2 to +7.6 ‰. Coordinates from Mindat (Pista pit).
