Orogenic goldAu

Type
Archaean amphibolite-facies lode gold (lode schists)

Gold deposit in a narrow greenstone belt (about 1 km wide) of the Meekatharra-Mount Magnet belt, between two granitoid batholiths; about 40 t gold produced for a resource over 100 t at 2.1-4.7 g/t. Jiang et al. (2002): Mg-rich tourmaline of lode schists from -17.7 to -15.0 ‰, lighter late pegmatites (-21.6 to -20.9 ‰). Indicative coordinates, not published in the article.
