- Vein and shear-zone gold in a differentiated dolerite
Yilgarn Craton, Archaean greenstone belts (2.62 to over 2.76 Ga), metamorphism up to lower amphibolite facies. Main gold mineralisation of the Yilgarn, in fractures and shears of the Golden Mile Dolerite. Barren dolerite pyrite +0.7 to +1.0 ‰: the gold-zone sulphides, lighter and associated with anhydrite (+18.2 ‰), point to epigenetic deposition at fairly high oxygen fugacity. Traces of barite not analysed. Indicative coordinates.
