Belleisle Bay Group (New River Belt, Ganderia-Avalonia): auriferous quartz-carbonate veins in shear zones cutting mafic volcanics of the Grant Brook Formation (tuff dated at 541 ± 3 Ma), 500 m south of the Taylor Brook Fault. Two pyrite generations, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, gold and tellurides; inferred resource of 214,800 t at 9.6 g/t Au. Hydrothermal rutile U-Pb 348 ± 46 Ma, muscovite 40Ar-39Ar 433.9 ± 3.6 Ma (Lafontaine et al., 2008), ages reset by the Acadian and Neoacadian orogenies according to the authors. Coordinates from Globex Mining (about 1 km northwest of Hatfield Point).
