Magmatic (Ni-Cu-PGE, carbonatites)Cr
- Type
- High-Cr podiform chromitites in an ophiolite
China's largest chromite deposit (about 7 Mt of ore, some 600 bodies) in harzburgites and the dunitic transition zone of the Luobusa ophiolite, 200 km east-south-east of Lhasa. Boninitic parental magma. Yarlung-Zangbo ophiolite chromites: 187Os/188Os of 0.1253 to 0.1293 (mean 0.1269), unradiogenic; light zinc ascribed to input from subducted serpentinites and sediments. Indicative coordinates.
