Cameron district (uraniferous petrified wood)
Arizona, Coconino County, United States
UraniumU
- Type
- Uranium in petrified wood of Colorado Plateau sandstones
Mineralised petrified wood of the Mesozoic fluvial sediments of the Colorado Plateau; unidentified source mine; REE-poor uraninite, the only one of the study with more than 0.1 % P2O5. Uraninite 87Sr/86Sr measured by Balboni et al. (2016) for nuclear forensics: low ratios (below 0.7200) in low-temperature sandstone deposits, high in pegmatites, veins and breccia pipes. Indicative coordinates (Cameron).
87Sr/86Sr isotope ratio, no unit Values of the same system
Standard : NIST SRM 987
| Value | Range | n | Mineral or matrix | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.71933 ± 0.000007 | 1 | petrified wood uraninite Single analysis; value read from the Figure 7 label, 2σ uncertainty; the text gives 0.71750 for Cameron and 0.71933 for Happy Jack, the reverse of the figure. | Balboni et al.
