Rhine at Rueun

Grisons (Anterior Rhine), Switzerland

Rivers and surface water

Type
River or surface water

River studied by Nielsen et al. (2005) for dissolved Tl, value taken from Table 13.3 of Nielsen and Rehkämper (2012). The riverine mean (-2.5 ± 1.0) is close to the continental crust (-2.0): continental weathering fractionates Tl little; the lightest rivers (Danube, Rhine at Rueun, Doubs, Eder: -6.7 to -4.2) are ascribed to marine carbonates in their catchments. Indicative coordinates (Rueun village). Mean of 7 analyses by Nielsen et al. (2004): -6.2 ± 0.9, 3.61 pg/g Tl.
