Carbonate replacementPb-Zn (Ag)
- Type
- Intrusion-related carbonate replacement (CRD), metamorphosed
Massive sulfide lenses in marbles of the Ordovician Tanjianshan Group, 640,000 t at 4.86 % Zn and 4.16 % Pb, formed at about 350 to 420 °C; about 20 % of the ore is layered in schists, deformed and remobilised during regional metamorphism (greenschist to amphibolite). Sphalerite δ66Zn in marbles increases with altitude (Rayleigh fractionation), while sphalerite in schists decreases (remobilisation with sulfide melts); cadmium varies little and stays decoupled from zinc.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.26 ± 0.07 ‰ | 0.15 / 0.39 ‰ | 9 | undeformed sphalerite in marbles (Sp1) Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 9 samples, Table 1. Values increasing with altitude, from 2474 to 2762 m. | Zhao et al. (2023), Zinc and cadmium isotopic constraints on metal sources of the Xitiesh… |
| 0.12 ± 0.07 ‰ | 0.03 / 0.19 ‰ | 7 | deformed sphalerite in schists (Sp2) Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 7 samples, Table 1. Including zzx-10, in unit c sandstone (drill hole ZK16901). Lighter than Sp1 and decreasing with altitude. | Zhao et al.
