Salar del Hombre Muerto
Catamarca and Salta, Puna, Argentina
OtherLi (K, B)
- Type
- Continental salar brine
Salar of the Argentine Puna worked for lithium, where the brine is first concentrated by adsorption on alumina before solar evaporation. Geothermal springs contribute significantly to brine lithium, and isotopic fractionation there reflects surface adsorption on clays rather than structural incorporation.
