Banded iron formationsFe

Type
Neoarchaean banded iron formation, with high-grade magnetite ore

Anshan-type iron deposit north-east of Anshan city, hosted by the Yingtaoyuan Formation. Unlike Gongchangling, the pyrite sulfur of the high-grade ore and altered rocks is clearly heavier than that of the BIF, a sign of a distinct magmatic-hydrothermal source rich in arsenic and selenium.
