Northwest Territories, southern Mackenzie Mountains (NTS sheet 95F/10), Canada

SEDEXZn, Pb, Ag (Cu)

Type
Carbonate-hosted Zn-Pb-Ag: stratabound replacement massive sulfides and quartz-carbonate-sulfide veins

Former Cadillac deposit: resource of 11.8 Mt at 12.5 % Zn, 10.1 % Pb, 0.4 % Cu and 161 g/t Ag. Stratabound massive sulfides (pyrite, sphalerite, galena) in the mottled dolostone and spar units of the Upper Whittaker Formation (Ordovician-Silurian), over 3 km and up to 28 m thick; quartz-carbonate-sulfide veins (galena, sphalerite, tennantite-tetrahedrite) over 16 km along the north-south Prairie Creek fault (zones 1 to 12, Rico, North Gate and South Gate showings). Paradis (2007): stratabound sulfide lead close to Selwyn Basin SEDEX deposits, vein lead more radiogenic and genetically unrelated; very radiogenic vein Sr; sulfur from bacterially reduced marine sulfate. Published coordinates (61°33′11.6″ N, 124°47′33.2″ W).
