SEDEXNi-Zn (Mo, EGP)

Type
Stratiform Ni-Zn-PGE in black shales (Devonian)

Mineralised bed 2 to 7 cm thick with vaesite (2.3 to 7.8 % Ni, 0.14 to 1.3 % Zn, 0.14 to 0.39 % Mo) at the base of the Phosphatic Chert Member of the Canol Formation (Devonian black shales), over more than 80 km²; anomalous PGE (Pt 149 to 618 ppb, Pd 91 to 319 ppb); sulphide crystallisation at about 138 °C and discharge of metalliferous fluids through unconsolidated sediments according to Hulbert et al. (1992). Coordinates not given.
