UraniumU

Type
Sand-hosted roll-front uranium

Roll-front uranium deposit in Eyre Formation sands (Palaeogene), Frome Basin, mined by in situ recovery (Heathgate Resources). 236U produced in situ by neutron capture on 235U: 236U/238U of the order of 10⁻¹², higher in the most U-rich samples, with deviations linked to mineralogy and water (Murphy et al., 2015). Reduced carbonaceous sands of the lower limb of the main roll front; highest 236U/238U ratios of the study. Indicative coordinates (Pepegoona West, a few kilometres away).
