P-Patch (Athabasca)
Saskatchewan, Athabasca Basin, Canada
UraniumU
- Type
- Proterozoic unconformity-related uranium, basement-hosted
Basement-hosted unconformity-related uranium deposit: uranium and clay alteration halo concentrated in the basement, without halo in the basin. Mercadier et al. (2012): dravites with a mode near +33 ‰ as at Eagle Point, boron supplied by evaporated marine brines.

| 33 ‰ | hydrothermal dravite (basement-hosted deposit) Dravite (Fe/(Fe+Mg) 0 to 0.1) coeval with uraninite, illite and sudoite. Central value = mode given in the text for this subtype, not a mean; dravites from the four deposits range from +19.6 to +36.5 ‰. Calculated fluid +24.6 to +44.5 ‰ (tourmaline-fluid Δ of -5 to -8 ‰ at 130 to 220 °C): evaporated marine brines. | Mercadier et al.
