- Type
- Granite-hosted uranium (episyenites)
A former uranium mine of the Brittany district, worked from 1976 to 1981 by Simura: 18,700 t of ore and about 49 t of uranium. The ore, dated at 241 ± 24 Ma by lead isotopes, is hosted in a granite massif of about 308 Ma. Mine water discharge contaminated a downstream wetland.
207Pb/206Pb isotope ratio, no unit Values of the same system
Standard : NIST SRM 981
| Value | Range | n | Mineral or matrix | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.051 ± 0.0005 | radiogenic lead of the uranium ore Ratio of the radiogenic end-member, obtained from the intercept of 207Pb/206Pb versus 204Pb/206Pb on contaminated soils, without an ore sample (2σ uncertainty). It corresponds to a 206Pb/207Pb of about 19.6. | Gourgiotis et al. (2020), New Insights into Pb Isotope Fingerprinting of U-Mine Material … |
