- Shale-hosted stratiform Zn-Pb-Ag (SEDEX, clastic-dominated)
World-class deposit (167 Mt at 8.2 % Zn, 1.2 % Pb and 33 g/t Ag) in 45 m of black shale and siltstone of the Lawn Hill Formation (1595 Ma), near the Termite Range fault; mineralisation at least 20 Ma younger (Pb model age about 1575 Ma), in 21.6 wt % NaCl eq. brines homogenised between 74 and 125 °C. Ore fluids of the Burketown field are evolved basinal brines (meteoric waters and evaporated seawater), sulfur coming from thermochemical sulfate reduction. Pit coordinates.
