SEDEXPb-Zn-Ag
- Type
- Metamorphosed stratiform Pb-Zn-Ag (Broken Hill type)
Small satellite deposit of Broken Hill (2 Mt at 6 to 11 % Pb, 2.5 % Zn and 300 to 500 g/t Ag, second deposit of the district), in quartz-gahnite lode rocks. Broken Hill-type deposits in the Palaeoproterozoic Willyama Supergroup, intensely deformed and metamorphosed at granulite facies (about 700 to 800 °C, 5 to 6 kbar) during the Olarian Orogeny. Sphalerite zinc and cadmium, among the most scattered known, point to low-temperature syngenetic deposition with a biogenic component. Coordinates from the publication.
