Ocean station of De La Rocha et al. (2000); the mean ocean is +1.1 ± 0.3 ‰ (n = 69). Surface waters are made heavier by diatom uptake, deep waters lighter by opal dissolution. Coordinates of the BATS station, Table 2 having a typo.

| Value | Range | n | Mineral or matrix | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.42 ± 0.25 ‰ | 1 / 2.2 ‰ | 18 | Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 18 samples. BATS cruises 68 (May 1994, 2000-4500 m) and 102 (March 1997, 600-4200 m). The table prints '31° N 158° W', an obvious typo: coordinates of the BATS station off Bermuda. The +2.2 ‰ value at 4500 m lies outside the range stated in the text. | De La Rocha et al.
