Hydrothermal manganese deposit of Rehkämper et al. (2002), Yap Arc, 2300-2280 m water depth; 44.0 ppm Tl, 49.1 % Mn and 1.82 % Fe. Hydrothermal Mn deposits, precipitated below the sediment-water interface from diffuse fluids, range from -5.9 to +7.0 and their ε205Tl increases with Mn/Fe (r = 0.91) and 1/Tl: Tl taken from proximal, hot fluids with little fractionation (Tl-rich, light end-member), or from distal, cold fluids with stronger fractionation (Tl-poor, heavy end-member).
