SEDEXPb-Zn-Ag

Type
Stratiform Pb-Zn(-Ag) in a Devonian rift (sedimentary exhalative)

Stratiform and stratabound sulphide bodies of a Devonian rift basin, hosted by clastic sediments and possibly altered tuffites; tourmaline in banded jaspers, albitites, scapolite-biotite rocks and quartz-tourmaline veins. Highly chlorine-rich minerals (scapolite, biotite, hornblende): saline brines or former evaporites in the host rocks. Fluid inclusions at 160 to 230 °C (Zhang et al., 1989). Jiang (2001): tourmalines from -8.8 to -7.6 ‰, calculated fluid +4 to +6 ‰, no marine evaporites; non-marine evaporites possible. Coordinates not published.
