SEDEXNi-Zn-Co-Cu
- Type
- Black-shale-hosted Ni-Zn-Co-Cu (Palaeoproterozoic)
World's largest black-shale-hosted Ni-Zn-Co-Cu deposit, over 2000 Mt of low-grade ore (cut-off 0.07 % Ni) in 2.1 to 1.9 Ga black shales with pyrite (up to 0.7 % Ni) and pyrrhotite, repeatedly deformed and metamorphosed; nickel source linked to ultramafic rocks according to Loukola-Ruskeeniemi and Lahtinen (2013). The two samples of Pašava et al. (2019), at 0.04 % Ni, do not represent the ore. Coordinates from Mindat.
