Mississippi Valley TypeZn-Pb

Type
Carbonate-hosted Zn-Pb (MVT)

Cantabrian MVT Zn-Pb deposits, hosted in carbonates of different ages. Zinc comes from a single deep fluid (about 250 to 320 °C), precipitation occurring on mixing with a sulfur-rich connate fluid; δ66Zn reflects this mixing, unrelated to δ34S. Zinc mine hosted in Lower Cretaceous carbonates, with supergene hydrozincite. Indicative coordinates.
