Type
Weathered hydrothermal Tl-As-Fe mineralisation in lower Keuper dolomite

Meadow ("ore meadow") whose soils, neutral to slightly acidic Cambisols, formed on Triassic dolomite hosting a weathered hydrothermal Tl-As-Fe sulphide mineralisation; geogenic Tl up to several thousand mg/kg (Voegelin et al., 2015; Hermann et al., 2018). Primary sulphides could not be sampled; a red weathered ore fragment with Tl-bearing jarosite and the bedrock (+1.56) give a signature close to the mineralisation, comparable according to the authors to Lengenbach (-4.1 to +1.9). Soils: dominant Tl(I) in illite, avicennite (Tl2O3) and Tl(I)-jarosite at depth, Tl(III) on Mn oxides; 205Tl enrichment up to +12.6 in B horizons (Vaněk et al., 2020). Grazed until 2016, the most Tl-rich zone then turned into an ecological compensation area. Coordinates of the pits of Vaněk et al. (2020, Fig. S1), about 850 m west of the village centre.

1.76 ± 0.7 ε1red weathered ore fragment (P1 65 Ore R: Tl(I)-jarosite 84 %, Tl(III) 17 %)
Single analysis; ± 0.7 ε (2 SD); 5677 mg/kg Tl; sample of Voegelin et al. (2015); lowest value of the series, close to the bedrock of the meadow profile (+1.56): probable signature of the mineralisation, near-quantitative weathering of the primary ore fractionating Tl little.
