UraniumU

Type
Paleovalley sandstone-hosted uranium (infiltration type)

Exogenous epigenetic deposit in a basalt-capped paleovalley terrigenous sequence, formed in the late Paleogene and Neogene; pitchblende and coffinite ore. U-Pb ages of 26.9 to 6.5 Ma, widely scattered in U-poor rocks (oxidation and U loss) and 6.5 to 12.0 Ma in the ore; 238U/235U from 137.738 to 137.881, decreasing with U-Pb age in the ore; 234U/238U out of equilibrium in most samples: uranium remobilisation within the last 1.5 Myr (Golubev et al., 2013). Coordinates not published.
