Yima coal (Henan)

Henan, Yima coalfield (Yima Formation), China

Othercharbon (Hg)

Type
Coal deposit (high volatile B bituminous coal, Permian)

High volatile B bituminous coal seam of Permian age, calorific content of 12,679 Btu; mercury with a mean δ202Hg of -2.28 ‰ and Δ201Hg of -0.35 ‰ (Biswas et al., 2008). Non-homogenised sample; 1.1 ‰ spread between subsamples; with SH-1, signature judged possibly globally unique. The table gives a Permian age, whereas the Yima Formation is dated to the Middle Jurassic (Aalenian to Bajocian, Chinese stratigraphic lexicon). Indicative coordinates (Yima city).
