CRM traceability is a regulatory puzzle

Between the Critical Raw Materials Act, the Battery Regulation, OECD due diligence obligations and targeted sanctions, procurement and compliance teams face a stack of frameworks with heterogeneous requirements. IsoSupply unifies the response.

Tracing a critical metal from mine to finalshed product means tracking documentary information (invoices, certificates of origin, supplier declarations) that can be challenged, forged or simply lost. The isotopic signature, however, is intrinsic to the material and resists documentary fraud.

But this signature evolves at every industrial step. Without a fractionation propagation model, comparing a final signature to a deposit database leads to attribution errors. This is exactly the lock IsoSupply releases: inverse reconstruction of the original signature through an entire industrial chain.

The output: a compliance file auditable, cryptographically signed, admissible before customs authorities, certifiers and internal control committees.

The IsoSupply differentiator Mathematical inversion of isotopic fractionation along the entire chain, coupled with a probabilistic matching engine against a reference deposit database and a report generator compliant with major regulatory frameworks.

Mathematical inversion of industrial fractionation

IsoSupply's technical core: a probabilistic solver that walks back the industrial chain step by step to reconstruct the original signature from a final signature.

From final signature to origin

The isotopic signature of a refined, alloyed or blended metal is no longer that of its original ore. Each industrial step introduces a characteristic fractionation whose direction and amplitude depend on the process (thermal refinalng, electrolysis, alloying, remelting).

IsoSupply models each known step, applies fractionation in reverse, and reconstructs the distribution of plausible original signatures with their uncertainties. The final matching is probabilistic: the reference deposit database returns a top-N of candidates with confidence scores.

Physical fractionation models Rayleigh, equilibrium, kinetic, mixing, propagated in reverse through industrial steps
Monte-Carlo inversion Full uncertainty propagation: distribution of plausible original signatures, not a single value
Top-N deposit candidates Matching against deposits_reference.db with per-candidate confidence score, evidenced defence
Multi-source demixing up to 4 sources Proportion identification of multiple origins in a mixture (lots, alloys, recycled/primary)
Isotopic signature reconstruction flow across the industrial chain INDUSTRIAL DIRECTION (forward) Mine Deposit pure signature δ¹²³Sb = +0,28 ‰ deposit fingerprint +0,12 ‰ Refinalng thermal Δ Rayleigh +0,08 ‰ Alloy multi-lot blend + Δ +0,10 ‰ Product final measured signature δ¹²³Sb = +0,58 ‰ analytical measurement RECONSTRUCTION DIRECTION (IsoSupply, inversion) Reconstructed origin signature δ¹²³Sb origine = +0,28 ‰ ± 0,04 Top-3 candidates: Hunan (92%), Bolivia (68%), Tajikistan (41%) via Monte-Carlo inversion of the industrial chain - Δ alloy - Δ refining - Δ source Matching to deposit industrial propagation IsoSupply inversion

Signature reconstruction pour l'antimoine · The final signature +0.58 ‰ is brought back to +0.28 ‰ by inverting industrial fractionations, then matched against the deposit database. Hunan is the main candidate.

Four modes built for compliance

IsoSupply embeds a specific declination of the Quick Match module with four modes tailored to supply chain and due diligence problems. No raw geoprospection, but an audit-and-compliance-oriented reading.

Four Quick Match modes, four compliance questions

Each of the four modes answers a specific everyday question for procurement and compliance teams: where does a lot come from, is it authentic, does it contain recycled materials, and is its supplier reliable over time.

MODE 1

Origin search

Identify the source deposit of a lot via isotopic matching, after reconstruction of the initial signature.

MODE 2

Substitution detection

Detect an abnormal signature against the supplier reference, alert on undeclared changes.

MODE 3

Multi-source demixing

Quantify the proportions of multiple origins in a mixture (primary vs recycled, multi-supplier).

MODE 4

Supplier audit

Periodic evaluation of a supplier on five composite criteria, with consolidated score and history.

Tracking a critical material from mine to product

IsoSupply visualises each supply chain as a directed graph, from extraction deposit to finished product, with isotopic annotation at each link and compliance markers at critical steps.

The supply graph, enriched by isotopy

Classical traceability relies on document chains (Bills of Lading, certificates of origin, supplier declarations). IsoSupply adds an intrinsic physical proof at each chain link: the isotopic signature measured at that step.

The graph visualises potential break points: links without isotopic measurement, gaps between measured and expected signature, supplier changes in the chain. Alerts are automatically raised with their criticality level.

For complex chains (multiple refiners, multi-country sourcing, subcontracting), the graph can integrate up to 20 documented links, with branches and convergence points.
