Niujiaotang zinc mine, mined on a large scale, in carbonate karst terrain. Waters stay alkaline (pH 8.6 to 9.0): mine drainage matters little, anthropogenic zinc mainly travelling with fine tailings dust dispersed by wind (19.5 % on average). Paddy soils of sites 1 to 8 (except 3), zinc from 6.9 to 0.3 g/kg away from the mine; local fertiliser at 0.01 ‰ and very poor in zinc. Indicative coordinates.
