Mine tailings and waste rock
- Type
- Mine tailings and waste rock
Banpo antimony mine (Guizhou): 26 waters sampled in the Dajiagou Creek, which crosses the waste heaps, in the Chahe River, which receives the processing tailings, and in the Qisha tributary; Sb up to 1427 µg/L and sulfate up to 1926 mg/L. Dissolved sulfate δ34S follows Sb and sulfate in the Chahe (r = 0.68 and 0.89): a tracer of the pollution extent; isotope budget: about 59 % of the sulfur of the lower Chahe comes from the mine (Ning et al., 2011). Water leaving the flotation tailings storage towards the Chahe, with the highest Sb of the study. Coordinates not published.
