Crusts sampled in 2013 (cruise DY125-31) from 1720 to 4420 m: dive 69 at 4420 m (15°25.8′ N, 155°24.0′ E), dive 70 from 1954 to 2500 m (15°55.2′ N, 155°33.0′ E, site coordinates), dive 71 at 1720 m (15°52.8′ N, 155°25.2′ E). Crust OJ113-211T sliced over 10 cm; its deep layers are phosphatised (Wu et al., 2019).

Dives 69, 70A, 70C and 71; the profile of OJ113-211T (dive 70B) is entered separately. The 3.5-5.5 cm layer of OJ112-112T, rich in P (2.8 %), is the lightest. Published mean of hydrogenetic crusts and nodules: -1.05 ± 0.16 ‰ (2SD, n = 22), i.e. 1.2 ± 0.2 ‰ below seawater (+0.20 ‰). | Wu et al. | −1.14 ± 0.15 ‰ | −1.36 / −0.97 ‰ | 9 | Fe-Mn crust OJ113-211T, profile from 1 to 10 cm (vanadium) Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 9 analyses, -1.36 to -0.97 (1-2 cm -1.02; 2-3 cm -0.97; 3-4 cm -1.08; 4-5 cm -1.14; 5-6 cm -0.98; 6-7 cm -1.07; 7-8 cm -1.30; 8-9 cm -1.36; 9-10 cm -1.31). Dive 70B, 2350 to 2500 m. P 0.34 to 0.36 % down to 4 cm then 3.1 to 6.4 %: the phosphatised layers from 7 to 10 cm are the lightest (-1.30 to -1.36 ‰), while the top of the crust stays near the hydrogenetic mean; the authors suspect diagenetic remobilisation without being able to prove it.
