Orogenic goldAu

Type
Orogenic gold in quartz-tourmaline-carbonate veins in a dioritic intrusion

Mine of the Val-d'Or vein field: quartz-tourmaline-carbonate (QTC) veins in shear zones. Daver et al. (2020): three-phase paragenesis, early gold and pyrite under reducing conditions, tourmaline and barite under an oxidizing fluid, then barren As-Co-Ni cubic pyrite; district tourmaline δ11B from -15.6 to -7.7 ‰, lighter to the west, mixing of a deep metamorphic fluid and a supracrustal fluid. Exploration project 500 m from the Lamaque deposit and 2 km from the Triangle zone; veins in an 800 by 400 m dioritic intrusion in Val-d'Or Formation andesite.
