SkarnsZn-Sn (In)

Type
Stratiform to lenticular Zn-Sn (In) skarn in Cambrian siliceous carbonates

Stratiform to lenticular bodies in the second member of the Tianpeng Formation (Cambrian), controlled by interlayer faults, near the Tongjie-Manjiazhai deposit. Grossular garnet U-Pb dated at 88.1 ± 3.3 Ma (MSWD 0.98, n = 17), like the Laojunshan granite and the district molybdenites. Sphalerite with 8.3 to 15.2 % Fe (marmatite), rich in In (652 to 1010 ppm) and Mn, poor in Ga, Ge and Sn; magmatic sulphur (Bin et al., 2025). Coordinates not given.

1.55 ± 1.3 ‰0 / 3.8 ‰11pyrite
Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 11 analyses, 2-1 from +2.0 to +3.8 ‰ and 2-2 from 0.0 to +0.9 ‰; the two highest values suggest a minor contribution of host-rock sulphur according to the authors.
