San Cristóbal (Nor Lípez)
Nor Lípez Province, Potosí Department (south-western Bolivia), Bolivia
Epithermal depositsAg-Zn-Pb
- Type
- Epithermal disseminated Ag-Zn-Pb deposit in Miocene volcanic and sedimentary rocks
Very large silver-zinc deposit discovered in the 1990s, related to dacitic intrusions emplaced at about 8.5 Ma. Its weakly radiogenic lead comes for about 75 % from the Middle Proterozoic metamorphic basement (Arequipa-Antofalla terrane); Kamenov et al. (2002) make it the south-eastern limit of a new ore lead isotope province. Coordinates of the Table 1 samples. Indicative coordinates.
