Ruggles Mine
New Hampshire, Grafton County (Isinglass Mountain), United States
Magmatic (Ni-Cu-PGE, carbonatites)mica, feldspath (U)
- Type
- Granitic pegmatite with uraninite
Pegmatite dated at about 304 Ma (U-Pb) in quartz-mica schists, quartzites and amphibolites folded and metamorphosed in the Devonian; Th-rich but very REE-poor uraninite (about 0.01 %). Uraninite 87Sr/86Sr measured by Balboni et al. (2016) for nuclear forensics: low ratios (below 0.7200) in low-temperature sandstone deposits, high in pegmatites, veins and breccia pipes. Coordinates from Wikipedia.
