Murong
Western Sichuan, northeastern Yajiang gneiss dome group (Songpan-Ganze orogenic belt), China
Magmatic (Ni-Cu-PGE, carbonatites)Li
- Type
- Spodumene granitic pegmatite
Deposit discovered in 2023: pegmatite vein No. 1, mineralized over its full width, holds 960,400 t Li2O, Asia's largest single-vein lithium deposit according to the authors; host rocks are metamorphosed Triassic silty mudstones (T3xd2), between the Rongxuka and Waduo domes. Liu et al. (2026): tourmaline of barren and fertile pegmatites from -8.9 to -6.5 ‰, altered country rock heavier (-6.1 to -5.4 ‰).

| Value | Range | n | Mineral or matrix | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| −7.8 ‰ | −8.9 / −6.5 ‰ | tourmaline of the barren pegmatite, sample MR01 (BP-Tur) Published mean and range, without standard deviation or count. Decrease from core (-6.9 ‰) to rim (-7.9 ‰) in coarse crystals. MR01 is described as non-mineralized but contains about 5 % spodumene. | Liu et al. | −7.5 ‰ | −7.9 / −7.1 ‰ | tourmaline of the fertile pegmatite of vein No. 1, samples MR03 and MR04 (FP-Tur) Published mean and range, without standard deviation or count. The results describe FP-Tur as isotopically unzoned, the discussion as increasing from core to rim; the references to Figs 7c-d and 7e-f are swapped relative to the caption. | Liu et al. | −5.7 ‰ | −6.1 / −5.4 ‰ | acicular tourmaline of the altered country rock around vein No. 1, sample MR02 (AC-Tur) Published mean and range, without standard deviation or count. | Liu et al. (2026), Pegmatite evolution and mineralization: insights from tourmaline geoch… |
