Otherbentonite

Type
Bentonite (Ca, Mg)

Smectite bentonite deposit. Mainly terrestrial deposition: distal fresh to brackish fluvial-lacustrine setting, parent material rhyolitic ash; soil, wetland and groundwater, 15 to 40 °C alteration; Middle Miocene (14.77 ± 0.03 Ma). Köster et al. (2019): δ11B of purified smectites and fluid δ11B calculated for trigonal or tetrahedral boron at 25 and 90 °C.
