The world's leading copper-cobalt province, in the Katanga Supergroup (Neoproterozoic, 880 to 500 Ma). The polyphase mineralisation is related to the Lufilian orogeny (590 to 465 Ma). The province includes the Katanga district (DRC) to the north and the Zambian Copperbelt to the south.
