Orogenic goldAu

Type
Orogenic gold in fault veins and extension veins along thrusts

Paleoproterozoic (Birimian) deposit in the northern Toumodi-Fétékro belt, indicated resource of 2.5 Moz gold at 2.40 g/t; metagabbro, metabasalts and metagranodiorite cut by a NNE-SSW sinistral shear zone (D2) with a contractional jog of south-dipping E-W thrusts. Quartz-calcite-tourmaline-sulphide-gold veins; barren tourmaline 2a and auriferous 2b. Hauteville et al. (2025): homogeneous δ11B from -20.1 to -18.1 ‰ along a zoned grain, crystallization by successive fluid discharges related to fault-valve behaviour.
