- Intrusion-related gold-antimony in crushed zones and quartz veins
Lang Vai gold district (Lo Gam domain, north-east Vietnam; proven reserves over 13.5 t Au, 186.8 t Ag and 46 t Sb), an intrusion-related gold system according to the authors: mineralisation at about 240-236 Ma, close to the Phia Bioc granite complex (254-245 Ma). Host rocks: Devonian limestones and sericite-carbonate shales (Mia Le Formation). Sequence: arsenopyrite-pyrite-gold-sphalerite, Bi-bearing Pb-Sb sulfosalts, Bi-free Pb-Sb sulfosalts, Sb sulfosalts, stibnite-berthierite-native Sb, Pb-rich sulfosalts (distal). Initial hot, reduced (CO2-CH4)-H2O-NaCl fluid, then cooler CO2-H2O-NaCl; boiling and depth of 12.9 to 15.2 km. Khoun Puc: 5 ore zones up to 1400 m long and 150-350 m wide, 8 gold-antimony bodies and 12 gold veins; arsenopyrite, pyrite, jamesonite, kobellite, zinkenite, native gold and bismuth, without Sb-rich minerals. Nevolko et al. (2019): arsenopyrite from -3.8 to +1.1 ‰, calcite from +14.1 to +15.7 ‰ in δ18O, inclusions of the Au-As (339-352 °C, 8.2-13.9 wt% NaCl equiv.) and Bi-Pb-Sb (304-340 °C) stages. Coordinates read from the district geological map (Fig. 2, frame 105°16'-105°28' E, 22°10'-22°23' N), indicative.
