Thick potash sequences (abundant carnallite, minor sylvite at the top of the halite) in the Paleocene Thangon Formation, explored by drilling since 2006; potash member 3 up to 70 m in drill hole J05 but 2 m only 2 km away; trace boracite in potash beds. Tan et al. (2010): δ11B from +19.9 to +31.0 ‰, Br×10^3/Cl from 0.10 to 0.52 and 87Sr/86Sr close to Paleocene seawater, salts of marine origin.
