Orogenic goldAu
- Type
- Shear-hosted orogenic gold
Archaean gold deposit (0.25 Mt at 7.9 g/t) in an ENE-WSW shear zone at the contact of metabasalts, metadacites and metagabbros, next to Hutti and Uti; gold with pyrite, minor chalcopyrite, in quartz veins and alteration zones. Early amphibolite-facies alteration (510 to 590 °C), then greenschist-facies alteration. Krienitz et al. (2008): δ11B from -13.3 to +9.0 ‰, bimodal in metabasalts (near -2 and +6 ‰); fluids near +1 and +10 ‰ at 550 °C, one metamorphic, the other from I-type granites.
