Mississippi Valley TypeZn-Pb
- Type
- Carbonate-hosted Mississippi Valley-type (MVT)
Epigenetic stratabound deposit of 10 Mt at 6 % Zn and 2.26 % Pb in Lower Cretaceous limestones and dolomites. Sulfur from thermochemical reduction of Cretaceous seawater sulfate; sphalerite-galena pairs at 77 to 168 °C; heterogeneous orogenic and crustal lead with meaningless model ages. Indicative coordinates.
