Type
Hydrothermal quartz-carbonate veins with stibnite

Former Hlboká dolka (Tiefengründl-Steingerausch) antimony mine, worked since 1690: main stibnite, chalcostibite and tetrahedrite in quartz and ferroan dolomite veins cutting metamorphosed acid volcanic rocks. Hand-sorted ore was dumped; its stibnite grains have weathered for at least a century into yellowish Sb oxide crusts (stibiconite). Kaufmann et al. (2024, Chemical Geology): stibnite cores at +0.06 to +0.09 ‰, rims at -0.01 to +0.04 ‰ and oxide crusts at -0.12 to -0.05 ‰, i.e. progressively heavier towards the grain interiors. Dump coordinates.
