Type
Orogenic gold (veins, disseminations and stockworks)

North Khentii Gold Belt (Khentii basin, Mongol-Okhotsk orogenic belt), Haraa terrane: Haraa Group metasediments (Middle Cambrian to Early Ordovician) cut by the Boroogol granitoid complex (Ordovician) and the Dzuunmod rhyolitic subvolcanic complex; sericitic, siliceous and potassic alteration, pyrite and arsenopyrite with invisible gold, late native gold. Fluid calculated at 275 °C (arsenopyrite geothermometer) at δ18O +6.3 to +9.3 ‰, of metamorphic origin; heterogeneous sulphur source, wall-rock sulphidation according to Kim et al. (2020). Groups the uneconomic deposits and occurrences of Sujigtei (7 km south-west of Gatsuurt, small underground workings), Ereen (3.4 km west), Ulaanbulag (19 km), Khargana (15 km), Balj (4.5 km, mined from 2010 to 2012) and Biluut; each analysis is assigned to its deposit in the mineral description.
