Central Kalimantan, Schwaner Mountains (Seruyan Regency), Indonesia

Epithermal depositsPb-Zn-Cu

Type
Epithermal base metal veins (Pb-Zn-Cu)

Deposit of the Central Borneo metallogenic belt, in volcanic and metavolcanic rocks of the Kuayan Formation (Manatan complex), near the Ruwai skarn. Four stages: barren quartz-sericite, quartz-chlorite-sericite ± epidote, galena-sphalerite-chalcopyrite veins (stage 2B, 170 to 320 °C, 0.1 to 0.4 km below the palaeosurface), late calcite-fluorite. Boiling and decompression quenching trigger metal deposition; As-Au zoning in pyrite and In-Ga zoning in sphalerite. Fluids from Late Cretaceous subduction magmas (Sepauk tonalite, Sukadana granite, Kerabai volcanics) according to lead (Choi et al., 2025). Coordinates not given.

18.58774 ± 0.0041418.58154 / 18.5932313stage 2B pyrite, galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite
Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 13 analyses, six pyrites, two galenas, three sphalerites and two chalcopyrites (samples KM and 15-15m); lead homogeneous between minerals, slightly less radiogenic than the host dacite.
