Orogenic goldAu (Cu)
- Type
- Gold and sulphides in metamorphosed dolomitic marble, calc-silicate and quartz-albite rocks
Deposit discovered by drilling (155 Geological Survey of India drill holes) in the Delwara Group, base of the Aravalli Supergroup (Proterozoic): estimated resource of 105.81 Mt at 1.97 g/t gold and 0.15 % copper. Syn-D1 mineralization parallel to the S1 schistosity (metamorphic peak around 5.3 kbar and 500 °C), remobilized in F2 hinges; pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, löllingite, chalcopyrite, tellurides and native gold. Disputed type, compared with IOCG deposits by some authors. Hazarika et al. (2019): tourmaline from -12.6 to -9.2 ‰, continental boron, mixing of a granite-derived fluid and a metamorphic fluid.

Standard : NIST SRM 951
| Value | Range | n | Mineral or matrix | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| −10.5 ± 0.4 ‰ | −11.1 / −9.8 ‰ | 8 | tourmaline I (fine-grained dravite parallel to S1, mineralization stage) Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 8 analyses, -11.1 to -9.8 (BC2 -11.1; BC2 -10.7; BC2 -10.4; BC2 -10.5; BC2 -9.8; BC4 -9.9; BC4 -10.8; BC4 -10.6). Samples BC2 and BC4. Fluid calculated at 500 °C with the Meyer et al. (2008) relation: -9.5 to -7.5 ‰. The abstract gives -10.4 to -7.2 ‰ for the tourmalines: this is in fact the range of the calculated fluids. | Hazarika et al. (2019), The nature and sources of ore-forming fluids in the Bhukia gold d… |
| −10.7 ± 0.8 ‰ | −11.7 / −9.2 ‰ | 13 | tourmaline II (medium to coarse sector-zoned schorl, post-S1) Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 13 analyses, -11.7 to -9.2 (BC1 -9.3; BC1 -9.2; BC1 -11.7; BC1 -11.1; BC1 -10.9; BC2 -10.9; BC2 -10.6; BC2 -10.5; BC2 -10.4; BC6 -10.4; BC6 -10.8; BC6 -11.7; BC6 -11.4). Samples BC1, BC2 and BC6, fractures filled with pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite. Fluid calculated at 470 °C: -10.4 to -6.0 ‰; for BC6 at -11.4 ‰ the table prints "-9.0 to -9.9", bounds reversed. | Hazarika et al. (2019), The nature and sources of ore-forming fluids in the Bhukia gold d… |
| −10.3 ± 1.2 ‰ | −12.6 / −9.3 ‰ | 8 | tourmaline III (Fe-rich schorl replacing tourmaline II, ore remobilization) Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 8 analyses, -12.6 to -9.3 (BC1 -12.6; BC1 -11.6; BC1 -10.0; BC2 -10.1; BC2 -9.3; BC2 -9.6; BC6 -9.4; BC6 -9.7). Samples BC1, BC2 and BC6. Fluid calculated at 470 °C: -11.2 to -6.9 ‰; for BC1 at -12.6 ‰ the table gives -9.8 to -9.0 ‰, whereas the relation used leads to about -10.5 ‰. | Hazarika et al.
