Bailashui (Furong ore field)
Southern Hunan (Qitianling pluton), China
SkarnsSn (W, Pb, Zn)
- Type
- Tin skarn and veins (No. 19 vein, cassiterite-magnetite)
Deposit of the Furong tin field, at the contact of the Qitianling granite (155 to 161 Ma) and the Permian carbonates of the Qixia Formation; the No. 19 vein (skarn, 0.79 % Sn) contains about 270,000 t of tin. Hydrothermal fluorite has granite-type rare earths, a 87Sr/86Sr intermediate between the granite and the carbonates and crustal εNd with a mantle share (Yuan et al., 2008). Deposit not located: the place cited in the source could not be tied to reliable coordinates.

| 0.70888 ± 0.00033 | 0.708332 / 0.709404 | 8 | hydrothermal fluorite Mean and standard deviation recalculated from 8 samples, Table 2 (measured ratios, FRB-7 to FRB-12-2). Initial ratios almost identical (0.7083 to 0.7092) because Rb/Sr is very low. Three fluorites from Zhao et al. (2005), repeated in the same table, give 0.7077 to 0.7079 and are not counted here. More radiogenic than Permian seawater (0.7068 to 0.7079), less than the Qitianling granite (0.7085 to 0.7128). | Yuan et al. (2008), Characteristics of rare-earth elements (REE), strontium and neodymium… |
