Geothermal waters of the Tibetan Plateau sampled by Zhang et al. (2015): high-B waters (36.8 to 171.9 mg/L, Na-Cl, mostly 85-87 °C) along the Indus-Yarlung Zangbo suture and the N-S rifts, magmatic boron supplied by degassing of a cooling magma; low-B waters (0.4 to 34.6 mg/L, Na-Ca-HCO3-SO4) of the Lhasa block, boron leached from host rocks by water-rock interaction. Coordinates not published (map only). Na-Cl waters at 38 to 87 °C, 121.3 to 171.9 mg/L B, lowest Cl/B ratios (magmatic degassing).
